Hale Cocoa
Hale Kokoleka = House of Chocolate in Hawaiian and this spot is the future flagship of Puna Chocolate Company. The building itself is nearly 80 years old and has served the community of Kainaliu at the entrance of Southern Kona in a wide range of capacities from Theater rehearsal to car repair garage.
The Farm
The real jewel of the Hale Cocoa is the 14 acres of farmland in the back which we are planting out into a 4 acre park for guests to learn about Hawaiian agriculture and island plants, and then Kona Coffee varietals (Typica, Gesha, Pointu, Mokka, and more) and of course, cacao! The remaining acreage is dedicated to reforesting the pastureland into coffee and cacao orchards.
